Pretty much the news of the past 12 months has been how the entire world is feeling the effects of a recession. The world economy is struggling and we're told it's not just here in the U.S. where people are tightening their proverbial belts.
Not in the Spanish capital apparently.
Real Madrid today bought Cristiano Ronaldo for a mere £80m – the same week they spent £59m bring in Kaka from AC Milan – from Manchester United in a move that brings arguably the top two players in the world not named Lionel Messi to the Bernabeu.
These are the kind of moves that shake the footballing world.
But they still don't answer the one question that Real Madrid needed to ask–
Who is going to play defense?
